Content Creators Network ZW last week Friday gave over USD12000 shot in the arm to various youthful content creators that had made it to the last round of the startup week.

Content Creators Network ZW Convenor, Samm Farai Monro who is popularly known as Comrade Fatso said the startup week was meant to support budding organizations and give the a springboard to elevate their ideas.

“It’s been a fantastic five days of different media start-ups pitching their ideas to win USD 2000 each to get their ideas off the ground.

We had some amazing pitches from 48 applications from different media houses across the country, and now we are left with the final five who will get the seed capital as support for new independent media.

We definitely want to make this an annual event,” said Comrade Fatso

It was a triumphant aplenty for the last 12 contenders as the main five were granted as well as everybody returned home with a prize.

The top four winners went away with a US$ 2000 prize, followed by a tied 5th position which split to US$1000 each.

The top six winning organizations were TOSE, Inzwi Revechidiki, The Big Conversation, Yellow Card, CommuTalk, and Pachedu Community Media Trust.

The 7th position to the 10th position went away with US$500 each while the last 2 positions are to get internet support for the next two months.

The final 12 contestants attended a series of masterclasses under the mentorship of Levi Munhanzi, Harvey Binamu, Valentine Muhamba, Tinashe Nyaruwanga and Grace Chirenze
