Kelly Khumalo ditches Garwe Restaurant relaunch in Somizi support

Popular South African musician Kelly Khumalo who was set to be the main act at Garwe Restaurant relaunch in Harare today did not turn up in suspected sabotage to Somizi’s ban.

The Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe together with Zanu PF youths had expressed displeasure in host Somizi who has publicly declared that he is homosexual.

Somizi Mhlongo “Somgaga” took it to social media after he was blocked saying

“Being homophobic is just the same as being xenophobic and it’s not right”

The event’s organizers then went for Kelly Khumalo instead after the public outcry but she then decided not to come leaving the company counting losses.

In an interview with Spot News, the event Spokesperson Bheki said “Some celebrities were invited and failed to come but that doesn’t take away what Mandy is trying to do.

She is just trying to make people know that Garwe Restaurant is open again, it would have been nice if we had our South African celebrities but that didn’t happen…”

The event was attended by local celebrities and business gurus including Chamu Chiwanza, Madam Boss, Lorraine Guyo, Zodwa Mkandya, and popular cleric Evidence Chari was the guest of honor.
