Jonathan Moyo: Chamisa Lost Right To Demand Fresh Elections

Exiled former cabinet minister Jonathan Moyo argues that any new political party or movement emerging after the 2023 harmonised general election lacks both factual and legal grounds to demand a new election.

He further asserts that candidates who abandon their original party after contesting under its banner forfeit any claims or entitlements related to that election, irrespective of their validity.

Moyo specifically points out Nelson Chamisa, former president of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), highlighting that Chamisa lost his right to demand fresh elections upon leaving the party he initially represented.

Even as Chamisa reportedly explores forming a new political party, Jonathan Moyo contends that he remains ineligible to call for new polls.
