Court sets Marry Chiwenga trial date despite her horrific state.
Trial dates for Vice President and Minister of Health CDGN Chiwenga’s estranged wife Marry have been set for October 18 and November 1 respectively in the matters she is accused of externalising millions of dollars and attempting to murder her husband in South Africa.
Mubaiwa appeared before Harare magistrate Stanford Mambanje on Thursday and he ordered her to return to court on the set trial dates.
Marry through her lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa, has been fighting a legal battle that seem unwinnable since her first arrest.
One of the battles is for her to be granted permission by the courts to get treatment outside the country.
Her husband spend months in China battling the same medical condition and came back well.
The biggest question is why are the courts blocking Mubaiwa from going to get medical assistance out of the country.
A Coalition of Woman organizations last week accused Chiwenga of using State institutions to settle their marital dispute, which they said had negative effects on the development of the couple’s children
Mubaiwa’s lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa told the court that the trial dates are subject to the medical examination that was ordered on her previous appearance in court before magistrate Noel Mupeyiwa.
This follows her application to have trial delayed due to ill health.
She showed @hmetrozimpapers some of the wounds she is currently battling
