
Mnangagwa’s 41 seconds of re-engagement
President Emmerson Mnangagwa could not contain his joy for a photo-sheet session with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson which lasted for less than a minute.
The president has been hyping his trip to the UK describing it as historical.
Commenting on the video posted by Hstv Former Minister of Education, Sport, Art and Culture David Coltart said it was a 41 seconds session of “reengagement”.

Mnangagwa has been longing to visit London after him and a hist of other senior Zanu Pf officials were barred from visiting the UK in 2002 due to alleged human rights violations.
After he was welcomed Mnangagwa went on to post on his Twitter page thanking the UK Prime Minister for welcoming him.
“Thank you to PM Boris Johnson and Antonio Guterres for welcoming me to #COP26 .
As the first President of Zimbabwe to visit the United Kingdom in a quarter of a century, it is clear that reengagement is working! “
But his tweet was a subject of ridicule and joke with some saying ‘reengagement for 41 seconds’.
His administration has been knocking on the doors of the UK, EU and the US with a hope that relations could improve.
